Holidaymakers flock to Iran’s Mazandaran

Iranians from all over the country have headed to the northern province of Mazandaran, which lies along the Caspian Sea, during Eid al-Fitr holiday to enjoy its nice weather.

Locals and tourists flock to the region during the summer months, but particularly after the Ramadan season, which recently just ended.

Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar and is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting. People abstain from eating and drinking during this month’s daylight hours.

Mazandaran is located along the southern coast of the Caspian Sea and is rich in flora and fauna of all types.

The diverse nature of the province features plains, prairies, forests and rainforest, stretching from the sandy beaches of the Caspian Sea to the rugged and snowcapped Alborz Mountain range in central-northern Iran.
